TerraFirma is a really nice Blogger template, which I like to much. Designed on CSS by Freecsstemplates.org, I developed this template for Blogger.Features: 3 columns, right sidebar, simple. top menu links, search box, personal, cool header image.
I'm Klodian definitely a Blogger fan. Minimalist designer, Mac User.

If you want to edit "welcome text" this one:

Go to edit HTML --> search(CTRL+F) text above [would like to...], after you find, simple edit / replace it.
Using the Blogger interface, how do you add an "about" page to the blog so you can link that "about" tab?

Its not easy, and I dont recommend it. Try to upload from dashboard --> layout --> edit Header
Where is the header pic in the current html?
Also, I posted the link into the URL bar on pages and it came back bogus. Thoughts?

My question is - is it possible to add social icons like in the "notepad" template, like in place of the "welcome text"? If so then how?
I tried, but it always was out of place and looked messy.
How do you change the menu bar so the correct tab is highlighted when you change pages? Right now, no matter which page I go to, the home tba is highlighted. Thanks. And thanks for the template.

Francomega, I don't think that functionality is built into this template, but Klodian will have the final word on that.
I am having similar problems
to EcoChicago but added the template two days ago (background and links not showing up - they are all white, including
the bar behind the "thank you for visiting" text). I checked that the URLs link to the images, but the technical knowledge to make this beautiful template work on my site (epitales.com) is beyond me. Thanks for your help!
